This is a fiction book, but Mariette in Ecstasy by Ron Hansen is an absolutely riveting nun-themed book.

Never heard of these books before, but they do sound great. I do like the story of The Tulip and the Pope: A Nun's Story. It sounds very beautiful and maybe even sad.

What a fun theme! I have Armstrong's memoir out right now, and I've been wanting to read that Sisters book all year. I"ll second Greg's suggestion of Mariette in Ecstasy. :)

I love it. This is actually really useful for me because i'm in a religious book club and we're always looking for books on Christianity- and the subject of nuns is always popular because it strikes many as exotic. So I thank you for this list and I'm going to share it with my club, if you don't mind!
