Princess Hyacinth
by Florence Parry Heide
Pub: Schwartz & Wade
40 pages
Genre: Fiction
Poor Princess Hyacinth! If only she could run and play with the other children on the Palace Grounds. Why can’t she, you wonder? Well, because Princess Hyacinth has a problem—she floats!
Starred Review, Kirkus Reviews, August 15, 2009:
“Smith’s elegantly cartoonish brush-and-ink character survives an exhilarating scare involving a kite, a rescue and a newly formed friendship. Heide’s prose takes off just when Hyacinth does.”

These look like some wonderful childrens books; enjoy
Aw - I love the art for Princess Hyacinth!
I recently saw that 1001 Children's Books in a book shop - it is a very impressive book and I wanted to snap it up, but it was very expensive. There were some great ideas in in though, so I'll have to keep having a flick through it every time I'm in the library!
aww.. love Princess Hyacinth!
We have PRINCESS HYACINTH and my younger kids love it ... hope to post a review by the weekend :)
I'm going to the bookstore tomorrow; will take a look at 1001 CHILDREN"S BOOKS.
These look so good! Is it bad that I've never heard of them? Must go into the Children's section at the library more...
